Happy Social Work Month March 2011!
In honor of this month, I thought I’d share a little about some interesting ways this dedicated field is integrating further in academia and technology.
The University of Southern California School of Social Work, ranked among the top 10 schools for this discipline in the United States, is breaking new ground and is revolutionizing the field of training through its innovative use of advanced technology to train and prepare those who are choosing to dedicate their lives to this special field. I am honored to be among the first faculty hired to teach in the new Virtual Academy. It is exciting to be able to teach each week live using video cams and to make this stellar program available to people around the world. To learn more about this program and what its students are saying about it, please visit my blog at http://lynnkjones.com/newsbreak/uscvirtual-academy/. It truly is amazing how these platforms allow people from nationwide and global locations to have instant education through technology.
Please help me celebrate Social Work Month by checking out this new platform and sharing any thoughts you may have about the progress we’ve made in social work training.
