Caroline MacDougall, a local Santa Barbara resident of 30 years, is an award-winning herbal beverage designer for top tea companies like The Republic of Tea, Yogi Teas, Uncle Lee’s Tea and Organic India. MacDougall is also the creator of Teeccino® Herbal Coffees, the best selling brand of coffee alternatives in America.

MacDougall began her career in the 1970s sourcing herbs around the world for Celestial Seasonings. She has pioneered the introduction of new herbal tea lines including 18 new Tulsi Teas for Organic India and 17 new “Be Well Red” teas, a wellness tea line for The Republic of Tea where she still holds the title, “Minister of Herbs”.

MacDougall literally dreamt-up the idea of Teeccino 15 years’ ago when, as a caffeine-sensitive person, she realized there was nothing on the market to satisfy coffee-drinkers who couldn’t drink coffee!

Since then Teeccino has grown to ten flavors in two different flavor lines– seven in the Mediterranean line and three in the Maya line. The Mediterranean flavors are slightly sweet and nutty from dates, figs and almonds while the Maya flavors feature roasted ramon nuts that have a deep roasted, coffee-like flavor that appeals to the coffee purist who wants unsweetened coffee.

Every cup of Teeccino is naturally caffeine-free and non-acidic. Its nutrients include heart-healthy potassium, prebiotic inulin and antioxidants. . Teeccino’s many health benefits mean it can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime by anyone including children!

MacDougall works in developing countries creating new trade to benefit impoverished families. Teeccino’s ramon nuts are wild-harvested in the Maya Biosphere of Guatemala and its organic chicory is grown by smallholder farmers in India. Teeccino donates a percentage of the profits to support educational, nutritional and health programs that benefit women and children and rainforest preservation in Guatemala and Belize.
