My professional background is in social work and I have a masters in social work with a concentration in community organization and a doctorate in social welfare. My doctoral work was focused on organizational culture. I have been an executive leader in large nonprofits for over 20 years. For the last 7 years I have coached and consulted with organizations and individuals using appreciative inquiry. As a trainer and a university professor I have embedded appreciative inquiry into everything that I do.

Dr. Jones has developed and delivered executive training sessions designed to optimize personal leadership and organizational effectiveness for a variety of organizations, including: Patagonia, Montecito Bank and Trust, Community West Bank, University of California Santa Barbara, City of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Police Department, Ventura County Superior Court, Haas Automation, and others. Her nonprofit and local work as a coach, consultant and trainer has included: Ventura County Community Foundation, Santa Barbara Police Department, PROTOTYPES, Caboodle House, Transition House, Hillside House, Community Action Commission, Court House Legacy Foundation and others.
Dr. Jones is a regular feature writer for Social Work Today, a professional trade journal for social workers. She has a book in publication, Being the Change in Social Work Today.
Dr. Jones is on the faculty of: Capella University, Santa Barbara City College Professional Development Center, Antioch University Santa Barbara. She teaches nonprofit management, organizational management, strategic planning and other related courses. She also teaches Appreciative Inquiry to professionals in training to be coaches at the College of Executive Coaching. She is on the Board of Directors of Hillside House in Santa Barbara and Women of Wellness in Santa Barbara.
Dr. Lynn K. Jones is a Certified Personal and Executive Coach based in Santa Barbara, California and a sought after coach and consultant for organizations and individuals across the US.
