Day 2: Goods for a Cause Global Goods Partners

In my work as a social worker and a business coach I support leaders to run organizations that make a difference in the world.   In this season of giving, you can support one of the featured organizations in its  effort to do good works.   Each organization has fair-trade certification or has otherwise established that it pays its artisans a living wage.  Its products meets Western standards of taste and quality.  Many of the organizations were founded by women.

I love bags.  I have them in all sizes and shapes.  I carry around many of them in the trunk of my car.  I literally live a compartmentalized life, with each project, class that I teach, book that I am writing in its own separate bag.  So you can imagine how excited I was to find their sturdy Recycled Messenger Bag–perfect for carrying school books or office papers. Fun, functional and ideal for kids and adults! Covered with recycled comic strips, this eco-friendly recycled messenger bag has a roomy interior compartment, large zippered front pocket, cell phone pouch and a fully adjustable shoulder strap.

You can get this messenger bag from Global Goods Partners (GGP),  a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering women to achieve economic security, education and health care for themselves and their families. Employing the model of Fair Trade as the engine of change, GGP supports women-led community based organizations in marginalized regions in Asia, Africa, and the Americas by providing grants and technical assistance, and securing access to markets in the US for the handcrafted products they produce. GGP promotes social responsibility and conscious consumerism by providing extensive online information about its partners, their products and the countries where they work.

Thanks for sharing the messenger totes with the recycled comic strips. It’s cheerful looking and eco-tastic. Oh yeah and practical.
I loved hearing how you use your bogs to compartmentalize your life.
That’s laudable that you are so organized.
